Learn how to better understand, protect, and use data!

Understand Data

Learn about the value and role of data in modern society.

  1. Data helps us to understand the world. It allows us to make better decisions, promote efficiency, advance new technologies, revolutionize medicine. At the same time, if used irresponsibly, it can pose threats to our privacy and proliferate injustice.

Everyone agrees data is valuable. But what exactly does that mean?

We have put together our top 5 tips to help you better understand the value of data as well as the benefits and risks of a data-driven society.
Our Top 5 Tips

Protect Data

Learn how you can regain control over your personal data.

  1. Everything you do online leaves a digital paper trail: every picture you post, every query you type into google, every item you buy, every webpage you visit.

This data can reveal an enormous amount of information about you: from your political views, sexual preferences to any
    number of personal predilections.

This information can be misused. For example by stealing your online identity, hacking your bank accounts or selling your detailed profile to whoever may pay the price.

If you want to regain control over what private information about you is collected, shared and sold, you need to learn how to protect your data.
Our Top 5 Tips

Benefit from Data

Learn how to use (open) data to your and society's advantage.

  1. As a society, we are facing various challenges, such as global warming, shortage of resources and medical care – to name only a few. The effective gathering, sharing and use of data helps us to tackle these complex problems and advance as a society.

Moreover, digital transformation is fueling societal and economic change. If we want to make sure that modern society develops according to our needs – inclusive, sustainable and for the common good – we must get involved in shaping it.

See our top 5 tips on how you can contribute to and make use
